The vineyard’s tasting room and an adjacent barn used for equipment storage both counted as structures under NFPA 1123’s mortar-to-structure distance requirement, which set the real boundary for where mortars could be racked among the vine rows. The chosen firing line kept a full 420-foot clearance from both buildings, comfortably inside the minimum for the display’s largest shells.
Unlike most of our wedding work, the couple asked for a traditional, non-synced display timed only to start a few minutes after sunset — a classic build-and-finale shape using 4-inch and 5-inch shells with a mixed color palette matching the vineyard’s own branding.
