Every Salvo display is designed to NFPA 1123, Code for Fireworks Display — the U.S. consensus standard governing minimum distances, mortar setup, crew qualifications, and spectator protection for outdoor display fireworks. Our on-site lead technicians hold current state pyrotechnic operator licensure, and every show carries a certificate of insurance naming the venue and municipality as additional insured.
Minimum distances, not estimates
Spectator viewing lines and mortar-to-structure setbacks are calculated from actual shell diameter against NFPA 1123’s minimum-distance table before a site plan is submitted — the same calculator featured on our home page is the internal tool our design team uses first.
Permitting
We submit the site plan, shell manifest, and insurance documentation to the local Fire Marshal or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) ahead of every display and do not proceed without written approval. Permitting timelines vary by municipality; we build permit lead time into every project schedule rather than treating it as a formality at the end.
Low-smoke & reduced-residue compositions
For air-quality-sensitive or noise-restricted venues, we offer reduced-smoke and perchlorate-free color-composition alternatives — a real, increasingly common request from urban venues, hospitals-adjacent sites, and environmentally protected land.
